It's been a while...

Hi. My name is Megan, and it has been 9 months since my last blog.

I stink at this "keeping people updated" thing.

Here is the latest update: I LEAVE IN 2 MONTHS!!!! On November 4, 2012 I am leaving for France, then 90ish days after that I will be in Madagascar!!!! Can you believe it? When I started this blog, it was kind of just a dream. Now it's a reality!

It is kind of strange. I mean, I am nervous, and excited, and I have so much to do in the next two months, but at the same time I just want to go now! The anticipation is KILLING me. For those of you who are new to this, maybe I should back up a little and tell you what I am doing...

I am going to Madagascar to be a teacher for a missionary family (Marc and Stacy Niles) as they start a team of Missionaries to reach out to the Bara. I am so excited that God is choosing to use me in this way! Before I get to Madagascar though, I will be making a brief 3 month pit stop in France... no big deal... ;-) See, Marc and Stacy had an unexpected joy, they are expecting their third child! So I am going with them to France while they welcome the newest addition to the Niles family! So Exciting!

Anyway, your prayers and support are greatly appreciated and I venture out into the great unknown. Here are some specific things you can pray for:

~I have to raise the last bit of my funding in the next 3 weeks, that's about $1,400. The blessing is that this can be raised in monthly support. If 5 people commit to $10/month, that is about $400! That is so great! Pray that God put's it on people's hearts to give in this way!

~I have a list of things I need to do before I go. I need to get the rest of my shots, get my international driving permit, etc. Pray that I get those done in a timely manner!

~I have a lot of things left that I need to get before I go. Some of them are silly things, like a rain coat, and some kitchen supplies, other things are kind of expensive. Please pray that I can find many of these things at an affordable price, whether it is second hand, or online. Most of these things are not things I would normally buy, so my dad is a huge help with them (I know nothing about electrical converters, all purpose tools, or sturdy hiking shoes.)

I think that is all I have to say right now. I am going to post a list of the things I need so that if anyone has any suggestions about what is good, or if someone has something they are not using you can let me know! Thank you so much for your prayers and support! I could not do any of this without your prayers. God is blessing me so much through this and He is teaching me that prayer is an incredible privilege and a powerful thing.

Thanks again!
